i havent and I dont but I have wonderred if I should try the 2 day one some times but I dont think Id be able to stick with it. GL if you do and def tell us about ti!
1Hi redlilly ... I was 19 at the time I joined a hospital-sponsored liquid diet program. I drank this powdery substance for 3 months and dropped about 30 pounds. During that time, I had a lot of diarreah, was light-headed and starving. I gained it all back in less than six months. Perhaps a bit extreme, but overall not a healthy experience.
2key word "diet" 98% of the time people fall out on the diet because they can't handle it. bottom line is, its gotta be a lifetime commitment - if you can't see yourself doing something in long terms then chances are its not going to work. trust me its the simple things that work, which is portion control, limit the starchy carbs, stick to lean protein, healthy fats. and great workouts or any sort of mobility for atleast 30 mins. and you're good to go.
3well what kind of liquid diet are you looking to try?? some are actually great for you because they detox the body. those are the ones I recommend. I have tried it before. Five day modifide fast. I lost about a pound a day. I did not exericse during this time because your body can't handle to fewer calories and a work out it's just too tough. but after you do the modified fast you can start working out after. What eat is imagine's chicken, veg, or beef broth, imagine's tomatoe soup, lots of all natural non flavored water. san palligrino is great! steemed veggies is you have to. alcazeltser(spelling?) gold if you get an upset stomach. after five days the next three or four eat light. lots of fruits, veggies, and WATER!! nothing thats hard to digest like meat. and thats it!! again I lost a pound a day and didn't gain it back because after the fast was over i started eating lots of veggies fruits and water and continued to work out!
4I've done it twice.
Both time were medically supervised. They were called Protein Sparing Modified Liquid Fasts. The first I did for three months with my sister as a teen (I want to weigh 120 instead of 150) then she got preggers so "we" had to stop. The second time I did the PSMLF for a year without breaking it - only 500 calories a day for 365 days. Hard for the first 30 days then amazing easy except for the expense and social isolation.
I cannot really recommend going any other route to do a liquid diet but to have medical supervision. The shake are nutritionally balanced to a certain point but then your physician needs to monitor your heart and blood chemistry levels to make sure your not quickening your demise. I mean most liquid diet products are low on potassium and people often wonder why if they do it the diet without eating any solids the start to have heart palpitations - yeah that's lack of potassium. You have to get a rx from your doctor for liquid potassium to fight off heart damage because your body is metabolising your heart.
There are companies with great PSMLF products in fact the ones the doctor I saw the last time I did the fast used. The sell their shakes and soups and eventually small calorie and portion controlled meals directly to the public without a doctor's supervision but I still think that's a bit dangerous. What's to stop you from punishing yourself a having only one shake or pudding a day for a week and having only 500 calories total? So much damage could be done in such a short time. But with a good doctor helping you, you could lose weight and keep your health.
Hope that's helpful.
5I tried a liquid...Juice...water...smoothie...herbal tea diet for 5 days...I lost 5lbs...& felt sooo bloated...plus my tummy kept rumbling...
I would try it again...but only for 1 day at a time...
